Shot Roulette is always popular and often brought out at parties.

So, here’s how to play Russian Roulette. To play, you put different kinds of liquor in the shot glasses. Some disgusting, some strong, some weak and some water. What you get is always a surprise. Spin the wheel and drop the ball in the hole. When the ball stops, it lands on a number that matches a shot glass. Drink the shot, then go to the next person. Instead of the gun and bullets used in Russian Roulette, drinking shots are used.

Since there are different ways to play drinking shot roulette, we’re going to talk about the most common ones.

We’ve played many different kinds, but I have to say that the one where you use a gun revolver filled with liquid made us laugh and try it out more than anything else.

Shot Roulette Wheel That Spins

This is the most popular way to play Russian Roulette while drinking. You have to buy the game itself, but they are cheap and easy to find, starting at around $10.

What you’ll need for shot roulette

Set up different kinds of alcohol for the Shot Roulette drinking game

Put the roulette wheel down on a table.

Pour different kinds of alcohol into the shot glasses (which vary in strength)

The best way to surprise the players is to put something disgusting in some shot glasses.

As a way to calm down, you can fill 1 or 2 with water.

What to do

A player spins the wheel and throws the ball in.

The shot glass will match the number that the ball lands on.

After the shot is taken, the game moves on to the next player.

If the shot is empty, the next player gets a turn.

The point of the game is to keep the players on their toes and a little worried about what shot they will have to drink next.

The End of Play

When there are no more shots, the game is over.

Use cards and dice to play shot roulette

This version is a lot of fun, and you don’t even need to buy a game. All you need are dice, cards, and alcohol. I like this version myself.

What you’ll need

Cards and dice (2)

Shot glasses: 15–20, depending on how many people are playing.

Several kinds of alcohol

The person who pours the shots shouldn’t let any of the other players know what’s in them. It would be best if that person didn’t play.

Set Up

Take out the four Kings and the four Aces.

Mix the cards up and put them face up in a circle.

If you have 15 shots, lay out 15 cards, which gives you 20 shots. layout 20 cards etc…

Your goal is to get each card to have a shot on it.

Add the four kings to the circle in any order and put a shot on each one.

Fill the shot glasses with different kinds of alcohol, including some that are strong and taste bad. You can add a few with water

The deck

Here are the numbers on the cards:

Jack = 11, Queen = 12, 2 – 10 as usual

King: Drink the shot on the king when a player rolls two doubles in a row.

What to do

The first player throws both dice.

Find the card with the shot on it. Drink the shot whose number is the same as the sum of the dice.

The next person to go

Rules

If more than one card has the same number, pick one and drink one shot.

If the card doesn’t have a shot on it, roll again until you get a number with a shot on it or one of the following: If there is no shot on the card, you pass and the next player takes a turn.

If you roll a double twice, you get a shot from the king and a shot from your card.

Game Ends

The game ends when there are no more shots.

Variations of Shot Roulette

As you play this game, you can add a lot of different rules.

You can make the number of shots more or less.

Mix the different drinks.

Include the Aces and make a rule for taking the shot from the Ace.

As with other versions of Russian Roulette with shots, the goal is to have a few bad shots so that the players are always on edge, not knowing which one they will drink.

This is just a simple game of Russian Roulette with a bottle. I think there are better ways to play shot roulette, but setting it up and playing it was still a lot of fun. Try it out and decide for yourself.

Set a bottle that is empty in the middle of a table.

Fill the shot glasses with different kinds and strengths of alcohol.

As a way to calm down, you can fill one of the two with water.

The best way to play this game is to make a circle with a lot of shots.

What to do

The bottle is spun by the first player.

When the bottle stops, the player drinks the shot it is pointing at.

The player then fills up the shot glass, and no one else can see what shot went in.

The next person gets a turn.

Rules

At the start, you can decide how many rounds you want to play by replacing the empty shot glasses. Each shot glass was filled twice, and then they were taken away.

If the bottle lands between two shot glasses, spin it again. If it lands in the middle, spin it again. Or pick the one closest to it.

The End of Play

The game is over when there are no more shots or when time runs out.
